Snow Speaks Several Tongues

Snow Speaks Several Tongues
Bob Komives

I awake to be told
woman tramples ice toward distant lover
man curses love that flaunts its risk
dry earth moans in its pleasure
wheat seed slurps into reverie
and ancient new beauty repeats
    “Snow is falling”
    “Snow is falling”
as moment whispers insistence
    “Listen to me”
    “Look at me”
    “See me call”
    “Be with me”
    “I am calling”
    “Snow is falling”
    “Snow is falling”
    “I am calling”
