Something Difficult Has Taken Your Smile
Bob Komives
Neither must you nor should you force your lipsto pretend that radiance
when you
see me
see you.
Because you cannot see
that my pain equals yours when you try.
Nor should you question my readiness to listen
(to give silent embrace)
there
where you may summon me,
or here
where I will welcome you,
if you wish,
when you wish,
as you wish.
