In the spring

farmer and I
conflict over rain,
as do I
with the me
in my garden.

My Weather

Not in Fall.
Good wine weather
is my weather.
Good apple picking
is my weather.
Grain-harvest time
that's my weather.
Clean the garden;
walk the morning,
sun and dry.
Do more thinking;
walk the evening,
cool and dry.

Let there be one cold soak
to finish one good book
and to give the earth more smell.

Then let sun
bring back air
crisp in shadows,
warm in light,
moving by day,
calm by night.

That's my weather.
